Transportation Whiskey Rum & Raisin 48.4% 500mL

Transportation Whiskey have teamed up with Hobart Whisky to create a rip-roaring blend based on their Belfast Whiskey Week 2024 release which sold out within a day.

Packed to the brim with cinnamon, caramelised banana, rum, creamy vanilla custard and raisin, this masterpiece is a blend of Transportation’s Bundaberg Rum Casks and Hobart Tawny Cask. If you know your Tassie whisky, then you’ll know just how good these small batch whisky houses are. So good, in fact, that Transportation Whiskey even took out Category Winner Gold at the World Whiskies Awards less than 12 months ago for their Single Pot Still whiskey.

A shipshape dram, this 60:40 blend is made up of 2 x 60L casks of Transportation Bundaberg Rum casks and 1 x 100L Hobart Tawny cask. After being married together, this dynamic distillery duo then finished the whisky in a Vintage Tawny cask before finally being bottled at 48.4% ABV, non-chill filtered and with natural colour.

It’s single pot still meets single malt, the first whisky of its kind to ever be released in Australia.

Released through The Whisky Club in Australia and sold out in hours. I had 15 bottles in the archive that I’ve pulled out so this is the very last of these bottles.
