Transportation Whiskey Silvermine Mountains Cask Strength 61% 700mL
$389.00 GST Inc.
This is a very special release named after the Silvermine Mountains in Tipperary. My gg grandfather was one of the pioneers of Cygnet town in Tasmania and they named Silver Hill after the Silvermine Mountains in Tipperary, the county where he was born. I find these connections that people made between their motherland and the place they ended up a wonderful part of history and I like to think the little hill must have brought some nice memories of the big mountains back at home.
This is one of the two casks that went into the new “Martin Brereton” release. I’ve never released these seperate deconstructed bottles of a whiskey before and they are extremely limited to just 26 bottles of each component.
This component is a 4.5 year old px cask that was finished in a second fill bourbon cask. A well balanced whisky showcasing raisins, orange, vanilla, and a hint of cinnamon evolving into a spicy, dry finish with drying oak and pink peppercorn spice. Finishing with discreet notes of dark chocolate, coffee and a creamy mouthfeel from the oats.
